# What is RevTec?

## What is RevTec?

RevTec is a liquid staking pool with two liquid staking tokens, revSOL and issSOL, which accrue value from Solana's transction fees and issuance yield, respectively. (Transaction fees are also referred to as "real economic vaue", or REV.) Like other liquid staking tokens, yield is earned transparently on-chain and the tokens are freely composable with other DeFi protocols.

By holding revSOL, stakers earn REV, which grows with increasing transaction fees spent on the Solana blockchain. By holding issSOL, stakers can earn the more stable issuance yield, which decreases over time.

For the first time, revSOL enables a direct value accrual from the on-chain economy of Solana. As more on-chain trading and activity happens on Solana, increasing amounts of REV are generated and captured, and the value of revSOL increases at an accelerated rate.

## Solana Aligned

RevTec was started in May 2025 as part of the Colosseum "Breakout" hackathon, where it won an [honorable mention](https://blog.colosseum.com/announcing-the-winners-of-the-solana-breakout-hackathon/) under the name "H2O Finance".

The development of RevTec is entirely bootstrapped by [H2O Nodes](https://www.h2o-nodes.com/), a Solana validator established in 2022 which has supported liquid staking pools Marinade, Marinade Select, Jito, SolBlaze, Lido on Solana, The Vault, and the Shinobi Performance Pool. We are entirely bootstrapped, and will launch without a points program or project / governance token.

We are **Solana-aligned**: we win when Solana grows. \
We are **independent**: only beholden to our users and ourselves. \
We are **patient**: taking time to build a great product without distractions of points programs, fund raises, virtue signaling in the market place, or other gimmicks.
